4 Must-Have Accessories for your Summer Wardrobe
One of my favorite things about summer style is that it’s just so easy. I’m a simple, classic style kind of girl all year round and I just love the way that’s embraced in the summer. No need for layers or piling on cold-weather accessories. Just easy dresses, cutoffs and a tee, a bikini, sandals.
No matter the season, I always find myself gravitating towards the basics. I’d rather invest in pieces that I know I’ll wear on repeat than spend money on trends that will most often take up space in my closet. The same goes for accessories. Today, I’m sharing four key pieces to add to your summer wardrobe. I promise, you’ll be reaching for them over and over again.
The Straw Bag
A good straw bag will be your go-to for everything from the beach to rooftop drinks to a Memorial Day or 4th of July cookout. My straw circle bag pictured above is a great dupe for the much more expensive Clare V. version. I linked a few other favorites, as well!
No need to pile on the statement jewelry in this heat. I’m all about dainty gold pieces that you never have to take off. A couple all day, every day pieces are perfect for the beach. To take the look from beach day to summer night, just layer ‘em up! How to layer dainty pieces is one of my most asked questions and favorite way to wear PS46 necklaces and bracelets, so a post on that will be coming soon. For now, choose a few of the pieces below at different lengths!
For years, I’ve only owned sunglasses that are $20 or less. I lost or broke too many pairs to convince myself to invest in a quality pair. Two summers ago, my then-boyfriend, now-husband bought me a pair of Ray Ban aviators as a gift... I’ve hardly worn another pair of sunglasses since. And turns out, I’m perfectly capable of keeping track of a nice pair. I save cheaper pairs for experimenting with trends or when there’s a chance they might end up at the bottom of the lake.
A Straw Hat
My newest summer favorite is a straw hat. I’m not sure why, but for the longest time I thought I couldn’t pull off a hat... then I found this classic one with a pop of blue right before our wedding and pulled the trigger. I wore it every day of our honeymoon and now I can’t get enough.
